Large Impacts Could Have Triggered Global Tectonics on Early Earth
Impact cratering was a dominant geological process and likely played an active role in the early tectonic evolution of terrestrial planets.
The largest impact feature on the Moon is not one of the prominent "seas" that face the Earth, but the huge SPA Basin on the farside.
