Italy SSERVI Team Capabilities and Research Interests

The Italy SSERVI team is coordinated by the Italian Space Agency and is composed of a wide group of scientists and engineers from different research institutions, all of them involved in, or with strong interest in, lunar, Mars moons and NEAs science and exploration.

Scientific work currently being undertaken includes research on:

• Lunar geology and crater chronology
• Spectral characterization of minerals in rocks and dust
• Future exploration and terrestrial analogs
• Radioastronomy and Near-Earth Objects (NEOs)
• Planetary laser ranging, laser communications and retroreflector arrays
• Cubesats, small-satellites, and robotics
• ISRU and surface mobility
• Astrobiology and life sciences
