The NASA Lunar Science Institute supports a vigorous education effort aimed towards developing the next generation of lunar scientists. Prior to the NLSI teams being chosen in late 2008, the NLSI supported a small pathfinding internship program in summer 2008 in cooperation with the NASA Academy and other existing programs. After the core NLSI teams were chosen, educational efforts were developed in partnership with NASA and these institutions.
